Prime and Megatron engage in hand to hand combat atop of Sherman Dam.

Continuing the story told by Ratchet to the Dinobots, we hear how Megatron had knocked Optimus Prime off the Dam after he was distracted by Hound. Prime was pretty shock up from the heavy landing, but was pulled out by the other Autobots. They had won however, and the Decepticons quickly retreated - but only after Megatron blasted the Dam at full power, sending thousands of gallons of water into the valley below. Prowl was ordered to take the fastest warriors to the nearby human settlement, and to do whatever necessary to safeguard the inhabitants there. Meanwhile the remaining Autobots (including Inferno who shouldn't even be on Earth and Bumblebee who we just saw leave!) blast at the valley walls in an attempt to slow the water down, but neither that not trenches had much effect - it was all up to the other team.

Prowl used his Police car disguise to evacuate the humans without panic, while Mirage meanwhile just grabbed them and put them on their roofs! And after Bumblebee and Ironhide created huge trenches to swallow the water - the town was saved without any major casualties. While the Autobots seemed pleased with he results, the towns inhabitants where far from it - and turned on the Autobots believing them to be responsible for the Dam's destruction in the first place. Optimus Prime decided they best leave, and so all the hard work had gained no appreciation - only more hate.

Ratchet emphasises the point about humans unable to differentiate between the two warring sides, and we briefly witness two people who epitomise this statement - Industrialist G.B. Blackrock and his soon to be completed anti-robot weapon - and Josie Beller, left almost totally paralysed by the Decepticons she constructs a means to overcome this handicap, and possibly revenge! High above the Oregon sky, Swoop soars ahead of the others - and is glad to see Mt. St. Hilary in the distance. After he lands outside he is suddenly violently attacked, and when the others arrive they see him unconscious at the hands of Guardian!

As with the last issue, this story features a flashback told by Ratchet of an event that happened after the Man of Iron story before issue 8. Inferno's presence in one panal is just a mistake, he isnt even in the cartoon episode I imagine. The Dam is now called Boulder Dam whereas last issue it was called Sherman Dam. Flashbacks are okay but we were in the middle of an exciting story before and I was personally quite keen to get on with the business of how Ratchet and co were going to reclaim the Ark. Luckily by the end of the issue there are signs that the story is about to return to tempo with the shock reappearance of Guardian! Swoop is his unlucky victim and the others are the Dinobots are mad!
